Care that Continues

Worldwide Vets, Egypt
The greatest impact of a veterinary mission is not only found in the animals treated that day, it lives on in the knowledge shared, the tools placed in local hands and the partnerships that continue long after a visiting team leaves.
Crafting Wellness with Worldwide Vets in Egypt
That belief is at the heart of Worldwide Vets, a global veterinary charity working to sustainably improve animal welfare, expand access to care and advance veterinary education. Through MDF Instruments’ continued partnership with the organization, donated stethoscopes are helping support its latest efforts in Egypt, where caring for animals today goes hand in hand with strengthening veterinary care for tomorrow.
A Wider Circle of Care
In Egypt, Worldwide Vets worked alongside local animal welfare organizations caring for animals with very different stories and needs.
At ESMA Shelter, the veterinary team provided free sterilization surgeries for rescued cats awaiting new homes. Before surgery, each cat received comprehensive preventative care, including antibiotics, pain relief, deworming treatment and a rabies vaccination. The cats were also microchipped, creating a lasting record of their identities and medical care.

The team also visited a local dog shelter, where they conducted health assessments, administered vaccinations, treated parasites when needed and microchipped each dog. At another shelter dedicated primarily to donkeys and horses, Worldwide Vets delivered much-needed donations to support the animals and those caring for them.
The mission included time with American Cairo Animal Rescue, a valued local partner. By continuing to show up, share resources and strengthen these relationships, Worldwide Vets helps local organizations build on the compassionate work they carry forward every day.
When Knowledge Becomes Care
Some of the mission’s most meaningful moments happened not only between veterinarians and animals, but between veterinarians themselves.
During the visit to ESMA Shelter, Worldwide Vets Director Dr. Gemma Campling demonstrated the flank spay technique to local veterinarians, who typically perform midline spays. The experience introduced an alternative surgical approach while creating space to exchange practical skills and broaden surgical knowledge.
This kind of collaboration is central to Worldwide Vets’ mission. A procedure may help one animal in the moment, but sharing the knowledge behind it can influence the care of many more.
Worldwide Vets also plans to pair MDF stethoscopes with a cardiology course for local Egyptian veterinarians. The instruments will remain with the participating vets, supporting their ability to assess and treat animals across general practice, from routine healthcare and illness to emergency trauma.

Listening for What Comes Next
Worldwide Vets aims to provide ongoing sterilization and vaccination services through its Egypt clinic, with a goal of treating 15–20 animals per clinic day each week.
The clinic will care for both owned animals and strays, provide rabies vaccinations and respond to urgent cases involving car accidents, poisoning and other medical emergencies. In each of these situations, listening can be the beginning of understanding what an animal cannot say.
Through our Crafting Wellness program, MDF Instruments donated stethoscopes to support this work. In the hands of local veterinarians, these instruments become more than a donation. They become part of everyday examinations, urgent decisions and the continued growth of veterinary care within the community.

A Mission That Stays
Worldwide Vets approaches animal welfare from many directions; sponsoring veterinarians to serve in areas needing support, supplying medications and surgical equipment, training local veterinary professionals and creating volunteer opportunities for veterinarians and students.
Each part is connected. Direct treatment meets an immediate need, education expands what is possible, reliable tools help transform new knowledge into daily practice, and local partnerships ensure the work continues.
That is what sustainable care looks like. Not arriving with every answer, but working alongside the people already committed to making a difference. In Egypt, every animal treated matters. So does every skill shared, every partnership strengthened and every tool that stays behind.
Our Crafting Wellness initiative is a core expression of what we believe: that health is a fundamental right, that the people and animals who need care most are often the ones hardest to reach, and that a company with resources has a responsibility to use them. Across more than 807 missions in 73+ countries, MDF has donated over 45,000 instruments to organizations working on the front lines of global health.
