Trömner
This popular reflex hammer was invented by Ernst L.O. Trömner, MD, a director of the Neurological Hospital at St. Georg and professor at the University of Hamburg. The MDF® stainless-steel Trömner Hammer is a versatile 3-in-1 dual mallet-type reflex hammer with a third testing device at the base of the handle. It’s handcrafted and designed for eliciting myotatic and cutaneous responses in adult and pediatric patients.

Weighted Balance
The balance-weighted stainless-steel head of the MDF Tromner Hammer is outfitted with large and small mallets, constructed of soft silicone for precise percussions, less practitioner effort and greater patient comfort. The larger mallet is used for stretch reflexes, while the smaller mallet is used to elicit percussion myotonia.

Handling It
The weighted stainless-steel handle is precisely balanced for increased control of force for percussion. The handle is optimized for comfort and crafted for exact movements. The base of the handle, elicits superficial or cutaneous responses, including plantar and abdominal reflexes.

The engraved name was off center, and that was disappointing since the reflex hammer was otherwise really nice.
Great reflex hammer, works excellent and handle has enough heft to swing confidently. Small tip great for pediatric patients as well! Construction is excellent quality.
It’s pretty top heavy so it tends to fall out of my pocket sometimes, it’s fragile as you can see from my pictures so don’t put it in your pocket. The hammer literally broke clean off from its stick/stem or whatever. It’s just disappointing bc it didn’t last very long/maybe wasn’t well made. I can throw a Taylor hammer across the room and it would be fine.
