School of Medicine White Coat Ceremony - A Stethoscope for Every Student

MDF Instruments had the honor of presenting a stethoscope to each medical student at the white coat ceremony for San Juan Bautista School of Medicine. With the partnership of the Dr.Garcia Rinaldi Foundation, our goal is to provide a free stethoscope to every graduating student in healthcare in Puerto Rico. At this white coat ceremony, we welcome Alexis Hernandez onto the next path in his journey to become a physician.

Going through medical school is a whole journey of challenge’s alone, not to mention the competition. Imagine just getting started and committing to this dream and then the unimaginable happens. Alexis is from Camuy, Puerto Rico and went to achieve his dream to study medicine in Mexico where he was in a terrible accident and suffered second and third degree burns from a gas explosion in his new apartment 2 days after arriving. His story has been communicated across various news channels and social media due to his incredible recovery of 21+ surgeries and fight against a $1.7m hospital debt given by the IRS. However, this does not discourage him from continuing his journey in the medical field. Here is an article that explains his journey: https://amp.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/world/americas/article250672059.html

MDF Instruments donated white and rose gold stethoscopes to this white coat ceremony to help in celebrating our future doctors and to appreciate the hard work put into this achievement. Alexis and all students with stories and challenges are an inspiration to all of us here at MDF, to continue to help in our own way and Craft Wellness in our world with one another, no matter the obstacle. Being one of the many schools MDF donates stethoscopes for white coat ceremonies celebrating doctors all over the island, MDF is honored to be able to witness this memorial event for Alexis.

Alexis has just resumed his studies in medicine at San Juan Bautista which could be a great opportunity for us to continue his story and share his next chapter. Remember that you cannot take the elevator to success, you will have to take the stairs ! Follow Alexis on instagram and see more of his journey to help inspire you too to achieve your goals and how you can craft wellness in in your own way : @alexis.joelpr
