"There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about." – Margaret J.
MDF Instruments is proud to share our instruments and compassion for crafting wellness through education with our neighboring University of Mayaguez Puerto Rico - Department of Kinesiology. Working alongside the head of the department, Dr. Carlos Torres Ramos was able to connect with us to organize a donation of MDF stethoscopes and sphygmomanometers to their program, supporting their upcoming graduates, as well as the new and continuing students in the program. The aimed goal is to ensure they possess these basic, yet crucial, diagnostic tools to improve health in our world through education and research.
The Exercise Physiology course is a core course for the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez at the undergrad level, as well as the Master’s degree. These instruments plan to be utilized in supporting research they conduct in their physics lab. MDF had one of our own team members, Deyaneira, personally bring the instruments to Dr. Carlos Torres. Being a Mayaguez alumni herself, she was easily able to navigate her way to a student research meeting to drop off the donation.
Sometimes when we set out to make change in the world, and we don't know where to start. Always remember to look in your local community and craft wellness in small yet great ways all around you. MDF is honored to be teamed up with the University of Mayaguez and their Kinesiology program and hope to continue to support each other's common values of education and rehabilitation.
